I know I always say this...

But I haven't posted in FOREVER!!!!  There has just been WAY too much personal stuff going on for me to post anything.  Our lives have quieted down a tiny bit so I thought now would be a good time to get back in the habit of posting every now and then.

It is Fall.  My absolute favorite time of year!!  We are having our 1st real cold snap, well cool snap really.  Temps in the 40's and 50's.  The dogs are loving it.  T and I are loving it! As you can imagine there is non-stop hunting going on in our household.  It is bow season {for large game, aka deer}.  I have barely seen my husband on the weekends the entire month, but it actually doesn't bother me in the least.  I have been spending much needed time with my Mom.  We get out every Saturday around lunch time, or just before, and do a little lite shopping/browsing.  Then we pick a spot for lunch.  Usually a Panera, or Silver Caboose on the Colliverville Town Square.  It is a fantastic way to spend such a beautiful crisp fall day!!
Next will come Thanksgiving, my favorite holiday!  Along with Thanksgiving comes duck season. :)  We are both excited about this because it will be the first season that our duck dog, Delta will be in full hunting mode.  We have been working with her off season and she should be ready to go.

Happy Fall Y'all!

In Betweens

About a week or so ago my husband had a tiny fall off of his bike and messed up his saddle (seat).  Since then he has tried out a few new saddles and I think he had found one he likes.  With all these different seats laying around the house, I thought I would try a new one that would fit my hindquarters a little bit better than the one that came with my bike.
The first one I tried was a hand-me-down from my brother.  At the beginning of the ride all was good.  The saddle was wider at the rear and a little longer in the nose.  After about 10 mins I figured out that the seat was set back too far.  So we stopped and my dear husband moved the said seat forward.  We continued on our way.
About 10 - 20 mins after that I became a very unhappy rider.  No matter which way I moved (forward, back, etc) this saddle was NOT the one for me.  But at this point we were about 5 -7 miles from home.  My mood went downhill swiftly. As I continued to work my way home, this saddle from hell continued to split me in half by way of my "in betweens".  About the time we turned on to my street the thought came to me..."Did my sweet brother let us try these seats as a joke?!  Did he know that these seats were this painful?!"  I don't know the answer yet, but I"m definitely going to find out.  And let me emphasize how important it is to have a bike that is custom fit for YOU! :)

South AR

A few weekends ago Tim and I went down to visit his parents in South AR.  We hadn't seen them in a while and wanted to spend some time with them.  We had not seen Tim's dad (Pops) since he had been on chemo and radiation for a few months.  We drove down early on Saturday morning and got there a little before lunch.  We visited with Mom and Pop for a little bit before Pop needed to take a nap.  Then we went to pick up the kids for lunch and spent some time with Tim's Mom.

That evening we all went to his parent's favorite place to eat, Moon's.  It's an old gas station/liquor store in Homer, LA that is about 5-10 miles from the AR state line. Ever since I met Tim I have heard about Moon's.  This is the first time we have been able to make it down there with his parents though.

Pops best friend, Mr. Jerry, joined us of course.  These 2 act like an old married couple.  But I'll tell you one thing, this is what God meant for friendships to be like.

So this is the liquor store side of the establishment.  The night we were there they weren't very busy and we figured it had something to do with the entire police force coming in to eat that night. LOL

This was my steak and potato.  You order your steak by thickness, 1/2", 1", 1 1/4", or 1 1/2".  My steak was 1/2" and that was more than enough steak.  All the steaks are ribeyes and they come with a baked potato.  And they are old school there, they cook all steaks out back on a big grill.  Pretty darn good.

On the way there we passed this old gas station.  I just loved the building so of course I had to take some pictures.  These are the 2 edits I came up with....I think the 2nd one is my favorite.

It was a good visit and we were glad to see his parents and visit with them.

A Request

My dear friend P. requested "blog material" and would like to see/read about our biking adventures.  :)  I am very happy to oblige.

In February my husband and I bought new bikes.  He got a Haro mountain bike and I got a Mazi road bike.  Since we didn't really have a winter, we have been able to ride ever since February and it's been awesome.  We have loved every minute of it. We are riding up to 20 miles just about every day now and have begun to enter some organized rides. My 1st ride will be June 23rd, which Tim will be doing with me as his 2nd ride.

Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of us out on the road yet, but I will carry my camera with me today when we ride.

This is just the first of more posts to come. :)

My Birthday

Yesterday was my 32nd birthday.  It was a great day!  Woke up to snow flurries...the only way I could get a picture was to capture a few snow flakes in my hair. :)  But it snowed for about an hour or so.  For the last 5-8 years, it has snowed on my birthday every year.  Kind of fun! Some years more than others, but who's measuring right?

First event of the day was breakfast at the Germantown Country Club with my family.  Mom, Dad, Grandmother, brother, nieces, and husband of course.

Next I went for a birthday manicure at my favorite nail salon {Splendid Nails}.  Then we went for some appetizers and drinks at Huey's, oh and birthday cake of course!

Then we topped off the day with dinner at Sekisui Midtown with Peter, Parker, & Lauren.  Afterwards we went back to our house for dessert, to play Things, and watch SNL.  I have to say, it was a great birthday and I loved being with my family and friends!
